Exactech Knee Implant REcall

More than 145,000 knee and ankle replacement surgeries using Exactech knee and ankle implant replacement devices have been done in the United States since 2004.

Exactech recently revealed that these devices were packaged improperly, and as a result, the devices may have been exposed to excessive amounts of oxygen before they were implanted in your body which, according to Exactech, “can cause the plastic device to wear out earlier than expected or to become damaged after it is implanted into the patient’s body.”

Exactech has admitted that Exactech’s use of out-of-specification packaging may cause the implants “to wear out earlier than expected in some patients” and that “premature wear of the plastic insert of your ankle replacement can lead to the need for additional surgery (also known as revision surgery).”

Exactech admitted selling defective knee implant replacement systems for almost twenty years, including: Optetrak (knee), Optetrak Logic (knee), Truliant (knee), Vantage (ankle).

Does Your Law Firm Only Settle Cases?

No. We will do our best to obtain a settlement for you without filing a lawsuit because this typically results in you paying less in legal fees and costs, and receiving more money from the settlement. However, if we cannot obtain a fair and reasonable settlement for you, we will file a lawsuit on your behalf, and fight for you in court for as long as it takes to get you and your family a fair and reasonable result.

Will You File A Lawsuit For Me If You Cannot Settle My Case?

Yes. At the Wites & Rogers we do not just settle cases. If we cannot obtain a fair and reasonable settlement for you without filing a lawsuit, we will file a lawsuit for you and your family. We will fight your case in court for as long as necessary to obtain the justice that you deserve. If your case goes to trial we will try your case; we will not refer you or your case to another law firm to file a lawsuit or to go to trial. Marc Wites is an experienced trial lawyer, and has obtained multi-million dollar jury verdicts. He also has argued many appeals in state and federal appeals courts.
