On August 31, 2011, Wites & Rogers, along with their co-counsel, Robbins Geller Rudman t Dowd LLP, presented a check for $100,000 to the American Cancer Society. The charitable contribution resulted from a class action settlement achieved by the two law firms after 8 years of litigation in state and federal trial and appeals courts.
Tracey Paige, Area Executive Director of the Broward Unit of the American Cancer Society, was among the several representatives of the organizations that met with the law firms to receive the check. In thanking the law firms, Ms. Paige explained that “the American Cancer Society prides itself on being very good stewards of our donors monies, spending very little on administrative expenses and marketing. This allows us to concentrate our efforts on patients services in our local communities as well as much needed research to continue the fight to find a cure. Your generous contribution will go a very long way in helping to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.”
